Boys Volleyball Provincials Set for Change

Kelowna Secondary Students Cheer

Kelowna Secondary Students Will Cheer for the Host Owls during Volleyball Provincials

The more things change for Rod Belinski, the more they stay the same.

The Tournament Coordinator for the BC Boys High School Volleyball Championships declared the 48-team event “open” during opening ceremonies on November 27 at Kelowna Secondary School.

That was nothing new. Neither was having the City of Kelowna, Tourism Kelowna, School District No. 23, Volleyball BC and Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame physiotherapist Alex Recsky in attendance to support the event.

The opening ceremonies was new for 2013, replacing a banquet. Also new will be the venue for championship matches on December 1, switching to KSS from UBC Okanagan.

Fortunately, Kelowna is still the place to be to see the best boys high school volleyball in BC. Belinski and his hundreds of volunteers will always deserve credit for that.
