Tourism Kelowna’s Farm To Table program was the focus of discussion yesterday at a funding announcement held at the VQA Wine Museum and Shop in the Laurel Packinghouse for local media. Tourism Kelowna applied for funding from the Buy Local program for the promotion of agri-tourism in Kelowna through our Farm To Table program. The program puts the spotlight on local farms with a tourism element and the restaurants who source their ingredients from local farms. The Government of BC is providing matching funds of $100,000 which will be used to create visitor tools (print and online), undertake advertising and PR promotion, and hold local events for Farm To Table linkages. Local agri-tourism and restaurant operators interested in being part of the Farm To Table program should contact Laura Gibbs to find out more at lgibbs@tourismkelowna.com.
